Honoring The Earth Series is a daughter's tribute to her mother, ceramic artist Clara "Kitty" Couch, who died suddenly in an automobile accident in January, 2004. Kitty's Earth Series, her final body of work, are organic sculptural vessels of rich earth tones. Katie Couch Breckheimer and her sisters inherited several of the vessels. And now, Katie is fulfilling a dream by bringing together a tribute to her mother and a benefit for land conservation in Western North Carolina. Fifty of Kitty's artist-friends have donated artwork for the Honoring the Earth Series project. Now that the Blue Spiral I gallery show has come down, the artwork can be viewed and purchased from this website through June 22, 2008.
