I live in McClellanville, and am a school teacher “on hold” while taking care of my aged mother.  During these four years, I have had time to dabble in things I probably never would have if I’d remained in the work force. My latest attempts have been in oil paints.

I first met Kitty in Septemeber 1991 when she and Pinky stayed in our guest house while collaborating on one of their projects.   They made a lasting and inspiring impact. I have also enjoyed their company separately on several occasions, allowing me to know more about the individuals.

One evening, a friend took me for a ride in a boat he built. When we turned to head home, the sun was setting right through the keyhole in the bow.  I know Kitty enjoyed a few boat trips out to Cape Romain with friends she made here. So I chose this photo that I took that day thinking she would have loved this pleasant ride. And also because she is one of the people I think about whenever I see an earthly thing of beauty.

I am forever grateful for the little bit of time I spent in her company.
